Sedangkan orang yang tidak memiliki harta dan sudah bertekad ingin melunasi utangnya, maka ia akan mendapat pertolongan Allah untuk memutihkan utangnya tadi sebagaimana hal ini diterangkan dalam beberapa hadits.” (Nailul Author, 6: 114).

“Hai orang-orang yang beriman, bertaubatlah kepada Allah dengan taubatan nasuhaa (taubat yang semurni-murninya).” (QS. At Tahrim: 8)
Hudzaifah pernah berkata,
بحسب المرءِ من الكذب أنْ يقول : أستغفر الله ، ثم يعود
“Cukup seseorang dikatakan berdusta ketika ia mengucapkan, “Aku beristighfar pada Allah (aku memohon ampun pada Allah) lantas ia mengulangi dosa tersebut lagi.” (Jaami’ul ‘Ulum wal Hikam, 2: 411).
Ibnu Rajab Al Hambali berkata, “Terlarang seseorang mengucapkan ‘aku bertaubat kepada Allah’ lantas ia mengulangi dosa tersebut kembali. Karena taubat nashuha (taubat yang sejujurnya) berarti seseorang tidak mengulangi dosa tersebut selamanya. Jika ia mengulanginya, maka perkataannya tadi ‘aku telah bertaubat’ hanyalah kedustaan.” (Idem).
Namun menurut mayoritas ulama berpendapat bahwa sah-sah saja seseorang mengatakan aku telah bertaubat, lalu ia bertekad tidak akan melakukan maksiat itu lagi. Kalau ia mengatakan, “Aku tidak akan mengulangi dosa tersebut lagi”, maka itulah yang ia tekadkan saat itu. (Idem)

“Maka aku katakan kepada mereka: ‘Mohonlah ampun kepada Tuhanmu, sesungguhnya Dia adalah Maha Pengampun, niscaya Dia akan mengirimkan hujan kepadamu dengan lebat, dan membanyakkan harta dan anak-anakmu, dan mengadakan untukmu kebun-kebun dan mengadakan (pula di dalamnya) untukmu sungai-sungai.”(QS.
